THE SOUTHERN DRAGON
Vietnam is a wonderfully diverse country, with so many fascinating destinations to explore, both exotic and mesmerizing, a land of staggering natural beauty, from jungles to tropical white sand beaches, cultural richness, dynamic megacities and hill-tribe villages; a complex culture made of many neighbouring influences, something you could spot in the temples with Chinese and Hinduist touches or in the trading quarters, rich in indigenous crafts and reflecting centuries-old mercantile influences. There’s more to Vietnam than the traditional image of rice paddies and conical hats, the country today is bursting with energy and forward motion, something you could feel it in the hum and activity on the streets, in the way Vietnamese welcome you to their homes, invite you to taste their food, and proudly show you their rich culture. Incredibly subtle in its flavours and outstanding in its diversity, Vietnamese cooking is a fascinating draw for travellers.
