Experience the pure bliss of Maestro Andrea Bocelli performing live. The “Teatro del Silenzio” is an open air amphitheatre nestled in the charming countryside of Lajatico, the hometown of Andrea Bocelli. Each summer, the theatre hosts a concert in which he and his acclaimed guests perform with the accompainment of the Italian Philharmonic Orchestra. The Teatro del Silenzio site remains silent throughout the rest of the year so to preserve the natural harmony and silence of the bucolic landscape.

  • Discover the charming town of Volterra, the city of Alabaster, well known for its Etruscan origins and for the many remains belonging to this era; its peculiar urban layout reminds us of its Etruscan origins: together with an art historian  visit part of the majestic protective walls built during the 5th century BC, the Acropolis that houses several buildings and the foundations of two ancient temples, the Roman Theatre, dating back to the end of the first century AC, built in a natural amphiteatre shape area.
  • In Siena privately visit of the Contrada led by a Contradaiolo. A Contrada is a district, or a ward, within an Italian city. The most well-known contrade are probably the 17 contrade of Siena that race in the Palio di Siena. Each is named after an animal or symbol and each with its own long history and complicated set of heraldic and semi-mythological associations. These districts were set up in the Middle Ages in order to supply troops to the many military companies that were hired to defend Siena as it fought to defend its independence from Florence and other nearby city states.

ARCHITECTURE

In 1850 Giuseppe Viti, an alabaster trader, purchased the palace and carried out extensive restoration work. Everything has remained as it was seen, over the centuries, from kings and princes who were housed there.
